Friday, 6th of October
18:30 from the Monument of the Vela Latina
Avenue Maritima in S.Telmo Park, Las Palmas.
For Migrant Rights. No to Economic Terrorism.
Extract from the Manifesto of the call to protest:
We refuse to be complicit in the barbarism that capitalist imperialism gives rise to with impunity in the countries of the southern hemisphere.
We demand:
The immediate cessation of police and military activities that put the lives of those trying to arrive on the Canaries, at risk. The provision of all forms of emergency relief necessary for migrants.
The elimination of the politics of European control of borders and an end to European militarization of borders.
Complete ban on multi-nationals’ exploitation of natural resources in the countries of Latin America, Asia and Africa.
That all resources necessary are made available for the dignified attention to those migrants arriving in the Canaries (including assistance for all needs relating to health and food).
That all resources necessary are offered in order to attend to migrants’ rights, with interpreters and legal assistance, in order to guarantee respect of their rights and protection to those who have suffered persecution.
That all forms of forced repatriation are stopped. We should not permit the Spanish Government to act against international laws and fundamental Human Rights.
That adequate infrastructures and human resources are made available for the specific treatment of unaccompanied children, in line with international laws.
Recognition of equal rights for all.
That all external debts of Southern countries are cancelled. That the historical debts, formed by colonialist exploitation over the centuries, are repaid.
That respect is given to all free and sovereign development of African countries, such as the independent management of African countries’ resources.
Only in this way will solutions be found to the current difficulties faced by African countries so that they are able to change a future of poverty and desperation.
That an end is put to all forms of walls and fencing that currently prevent freedom of movement.
